It is run by respected and successful long time aviation professionals with strong financial backing.  We seek a highly knowledgeable Project Manager within the aviation industry who has documented experience adding a new aircraft type to a 121 certificate. We are open to hiring a contractor to successfully complete the task or to hire a long-term Team Member to also then manage the fleet. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in Alaska or remotely with occasional travel. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience adding a new aircraft type to a 121 certificate – clearly highlight this experience in your resume and cover letter
  • Experience managing certification efforts with the FAA and with the internal 119 team
  • ATP Certificate Required
  • Project Manager skills, certification preferred
  • Highly skilled and experienced in Microsoft Project
  • Pilot typed in DCH8 preferred
  • DCH8 Check Airman experience preferred

RESPONSIBLITIES:
This position will report to the Director of Operations

  • Run certification process of adding the Dash 8 to the Sterling Airways certificate
  • Manage the certification efforts with the FAA
  • Coordinate efforts between internal 119 team and FAA
  • Manage and promote safety within the organization, facilitating hazard identification and safety risk analysis, monitor the effectiveness of safety risk controls and ensure safety promotion throughout the pilot group
  • Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance to integrate procedures into aircraft operations that intersect with ground ops and maintenance, finding solutions that may require modifying aircraft as possible for airframe longevity or better system operations
  • Create programs to effectively manage flight crew operations, creating new processes or modifications to streamline operations
  • Coordinate with the training department to enhance our training processes

The Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive strategy to elevate the company’s brand identity, enhance corporate reputation, market services, and drive consistent and effective communication for the Sterling family subsidiaries. This position will oversee brand management, public relations, internal communications, marketing and external messaging for our airlines and part 141 flight training schools, emphasizing our commitment to provide the highest level of safety, customer service and professionalism as we set a new standard in aviation.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Brand Strategy
    • Develop and implement a cohesive brand strategy that aligns with the company’s guiding principles.
    • Oversee brand guidelines and communications and ensure consistency across all platforms.
    • Lead brand campaigns to increase awareness and engagement.
    • Ensure branding efforts are aligned across multiple locations and markets.
    • Oversee content creation for marketing materials, websites, RFP responses, and other key documents, ensuring alignment with Sterling’s brand voice and messaging.
  • Corporate Communications
    • Design and execute comprehensive internal and external communication plans.
    • Act as a spokesperson for the company and manage media relations, including crisis communication and reputation management
    • Create relevant and accurate messaging for press releases and internal leadership communication.
    • Collaborate with local teams to identify and tailor to regional communication needs and messaging that drives growth.
    • Manage requests for community support, sponsorships, and donations, aligning Sterling’s philanthropic activities with brand values and community needs.
  • Internal Communications
    • Ensure employees are informed and aligned with corporate guiding principles through internal communications.
    • Partner with HR to enhance company culture through messaging and programs.
  • Marketing Strategy
    • Drive strategic marketing initiatives across digital, print, and social platforms to increase brand awareness, customer engagement, and service adoption.
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive charter sales strategy to grow Sterling Airways’ charter business, working to secure new clients and expand partnerships.
    • Plan, execute, and manage digital ad campaigns across platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn) to promote Sterling’s programs, flight services, and special offers.
    • Recruit and retain students through lead generation and ongoing marketing communications, ensuring a consistent training experience.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in branding, corporate communications, or public relations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Track record of successfully managing brand strategies and corporate communication initiatives.
  • Proven experience in managing paid ad campaigns and tracking digital metrics.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and media relations.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and attend community/industry events to promote the flight school and airline.
  • Ability to multi-task various projects and complete them in a timely manner.
  • Experience working in multilocation businesses or with remote teams is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic environment with strong project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft, Teams, Word, SharePoint, Adobe Creative Suite, and Excel with the ability to adapt to new technology.

  • Keep the station orderly and clean.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly station and ensure all equipment is functional

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FAA Mechanic, with Airframe and Powerplant Ratings
  • Three years A&P experience
  • Have at least two years prior Inspection experience
  • Highly prefer prior Saab 2000 aircraft experience
  • Prefer prior Leadership experience
  • Valid Driver’s License and US Passport
  • Able to pass initial and random ten-year Background/Criminal/DMV/Drug Screens
  • Ability to work a flexible 5 days a week shift to include some weekends
  • Ability to travel for extended time periods

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reports to Senior Inspector

  • Performing Required Inspection Items (RII) as authorized by the Quality Control department in accordance with this manual.
  • Performing assigned inspection functions, in accordance with Company maintenance manual inspection procedures, to ensure Company aircraft are maintained to prescribed standards of airworthiness and serviceability.
  • Performing audits in accordance with the GMM.
  • Perform Company Representative duties, for aircraft undergoing Inspections and Heavy Maintenance Visits at Essential Maintenance Providers.
  • Rejection of all items that do not conform to the RII procedures contained in this manual.
  • Reporting trends or concerns to the Senior Inspector and DQC.
  • Conducting on-the-job training as outlined in the Maintenance Training Manual.
  • Perform receiving inspections of parts and accessories ensuring materials received are inspected to the extent necessary to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and Company Specifications.
  • Accomplishing non-destructive inspection operations for which they have been trained and qualified to perform.
  • Make recommendations to the Senior Inspector and the DQC for needed inspection aides and special tooling, and for the reporting of out of service inspection aides and special tooling.
  • Auditing to ensure the proper completion of aircraft records during maintenance and repair.
  • Assist the Senior Inspector and DQC with creating and revising audit sheets.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Inspector and DQC.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

This position will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor

  • The Technician is directly responsible for their assigned maintenance duties. Will work in close coordination with the Quality Control/Quality Assurance Department during the performance of these duties.
  • Responsible for their assigned work area, shop, or ramp, to ensure that it is kept clean and free of hazards.
  • Perform all aviation maintenance in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations, the highest shop practices and in the interest of safety of flight.
  • When authorized, perform receiving inspections of parts and accessories ensuring materials received are inspected to the extent necessary to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and Company Specifications.
  • Be familiar with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and Company policies.
  • Document all required maintenance in accordance with this manual.
  • Assist in the planning, directing, laying out and coordinating activities of their area and other areas to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.
  • Responsible for the handling of parts while repair is in progress which includes the proper tagging and disposition of these components.
  • Assist in initiating Material Requests for stock and/or material as required.
  • Keep tools and support equipment in a safe and operational condition and, when using calibrated equipment, ensure the calibration due time has not expired
  • Utilize personal protection (safety glasses, ear protection, respirator, gloves, etc.) as necessary while conducting daily duties
  • Submit in writing any suggested change in operational procedures that will enhance safe, cost effective aircraft maintenance
  • Responsible for completion of all department internal Company forms, maintenance records documents, work orders, etc
  • Other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

This position will report to the Lead Ramp Agent or Station Manager

  • Aircraft Marshalling and Wing-walking
  • Loading and Unloading of Aircraft
  • Familiarizing and hands on training on the safe operation of ground equipment (specific to equipment being operated)
  • Aircraft servicing (includes catering)
  • Ramp operations including safety rules, ramp markings (signs, signaling devices, lights and blast fences), equipment operating rules and procedures for positioning ground equipment around aircraft
  • Local airport rules and regulations (speed limits, roadways, etc.)
  • Deicing Training in cold weather stations as per the Deice Manual (DIM)
  • Be familiar with aviation security, weight and balance programs.
  • Report safety hazards concerns, hazards, near misses, incidents, and accidents to immediate Supervisor.
  • Protect passenger baggage from damage, loss and weather conditions
  • Report equipment problems to the AIC or the Station Manager
